Anti-parity-time symmetry enabled on-chip chiral polarizer

چکیده

Encircling an exceptional point (EP) in a parity-time (PT) symmetric system has shown great potential for chiral optical devices, such as mode switching and anti-symmetric modes. However, the polarization states never been reported although manipulation significant applications imaging, sensing, communication etc. Here inspired by anti-PT symmetry, we demonstrate on-chip polarizer constructing polarization-coupled first time. The transmission axes of are different forward backward propagation. A extinction ratio over 10 dB is achieved both propagating directions. Moreover, telecommunication experiment performed to encoding signals. It provides novel functionality encircling-an-EP parametric evolution offer new approach manipulation.
